About Us

Miss Mikaila- 

Miss Mikaila is the owner of iDance. She is so excited to start her 11th season. Mikaila, in her career, has worked with many top choreographers. She received her core training at Ballet Arts Theater along with competitive dance training at local studios. She is a Binghamton University graduate and continued her dance education while attending. She also lived and worked in NYC choreographing advanced dance pieces for studios on Long Island and New Jersey. She worked for Body Wrappers as a model for numerous dance catalogs. Mikaila still teaches workshops regularly for out-of-state studios. Mikaila has won many regional and national awards as a dancer and as a choreographer. These awards include national technique awards, best production awards, titles, judges choices awards and many overall high scores. In the last 11 seasons, she has won 27 choreography awards, her dancers have won over 70 regional and national titles and two perfect scores. iDance was also chosen for the prestigious "ADCC studio of excellence Award" on three separate occasions including a national event under Miss Mikaila's direction.

Miss Mia

Mia is a 2012 graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she majored in dance with a concentration in jazz. She appeared in Sidra Bell’s world premier of “Lily” as well as Kassandra Taylor Newberry’s “Conversions”. She studied under many notable teachers and choreographers in the industry including Keisha Llama, Ron Tassone and Doug and Judith Bentz. She was also featured in Mac Miller’s “Party on Fifth Ave” music video and in the movie “Love and Other Drugs”. She toured with the United States Dance Team from 2004-2006 and performed in venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Disney World and Universal Studios. Mia found her love of dance at the age of three and now has 18 years of teaching and choreography experience. She has taught in Owego, Ithaca and Long Island and has been recognized with numerous choreography and special awards. She is excited to return to her hometown and to be teaching at iDance.

Miss Rebecca- 

Rebecca has been dancing for 23 years. She has traveled all across the county to perform and has won many accolades. During her time at Johnson City Highschool, she was part of the dance team as well as Varsity Cheer Team. While at SUNY Oswego she was part of the Del Sarte Dance Club and took multiple ballet classes. Her favorite part of teaching is sharing what she loves about dance with a new generation of students.

Miss Nikki- 

​This is Miss. Nikki’s 8th year teaching at iDance With Miss Mikalia. She has danced since she was 2 1/2 years old. When Miss.Nikki was 12 years old she was chosen to be a part of the United States Dance Team from a national dance competition in 2003 and 2004, where she performed at Madison Square Garden for the New York Knicks and Radio City Music Hall for the Lady Liberty woman’s professional basketball team. Nicolette was also a dancer for Gotham City Cheerleader’s, also known as the unofficial dance team for the New York Giants in 2013. She is very excited for her 9th season at iDance!

 

 

Mr.Evan

Evan Lapp is a current student at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City & Los Angeles, CA  pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Theatre. Since his start, Evan has trained with many working professionals in the dance industry. He began dancing at iDance at age 12 where he received his training in Ballet, Jazz, Acrobatics and Contemporary. During his short time as a competitive dancer, Evan won numerous Regional and National titles, as well as technique awards and overall highest scoring soloist acknowledgements. Evan has also been seen dancing in a multitude of local community theatre performances. He is so excited to teach the upcoming stars at iDance!!

Mr. Brian Howell- 

Brian was a 1992 and 1996 assistant coach for the USA Olympic team. He teaches skills ranging from forward and backwards rolls, all the way up to round off backhandspring double fulls, double backs and full - ins. High success rate with teaching round off backhandsprings, backhandsprings tucks, layouts or fulls. As well as standing backhandsprings, standing back tucks, aerials (side or front) front handsprings, fly springs, front or back walk overs. Back bends, bridge up kick overs, and cart wheels.
